There are plenty of people that would like to have their doctorate in counseling but unfortunately, life can be a little bit busy for you to spend all of those years on campus. If you are not in a position to take all of those courses directly at the college itself, you may look into doing some of the phd programs in counseling that are available on the Internet. Not every university is going to have these classes available but some will have enough that you will be able to get plenty of credits to put towards your doctorate and cut down on the amount of time that you are on campus.
